Wedding guest shoes: The best flat wide shoes for women 2025

I love love, good food and bad dancing, so it’ll come as no surprise that I love a good wedding. But I’ll tell you what I don’t love: sore feet. I want to be the last one on the dance floor, not weeping into a compeed blister patch at 11pm in the corner.

Suffice to say, the days of me suffering for style are well and truly gone. I am in my era of comfortable wedding guest shoes only. Anything that squishes or pinches is out. No second chances.

This is the first in a series of three posts on wedding guest shoes - wide fit edition. We’ll cover heels in the second, and platforms and wedges in the third. But for now, I’m all about the comfiest, most stylish flat wedding guest shoes on the market in 2025. All suitable for at least wide width, with some extra and extra extra wide options too.

If you’re looking for a sleek ballet flat, look no further than this suave offering from Calla the brand known for its bunion supportive footwear. These shoes run standard size across the heel, with the width in the toe box by way of a soft stretch panel, which can accommodate bunions.

There’s a teeny little heel to offer you a bit more support than your run-of-the-mill ballet flat, along with arch support to give your feet the lift they deserve. Plus, if you’re looking for a shoe you can wear again and again, you’ve found it here. It’s like the little black dress version of a shoe. And it’s on sale.

What are you waiting for? Pull on your wide fitting trainers and run, don't walk!

I'm sorry but these are just adorable. Like something straight out of a fairy tale! The elegant mule silhouette, the dinky little bow, the gold leather. It's the stuff of wide fit wedding guest shoes dreams!

The slip on design means getting ready is a doddle, and the slim 8mm base is ideal for a bit of support and dancing the night away. Some reviewers have mentioned their tendency to slip off, which from a design point of view I would assume is because their feet are too narrow for these beauties.

Alas, if they’re not the right gold wedding guest shoes for you, check out these offerings:

  • EEE woven gold ballet from JD Sports

  • A similar woven pair in a standard wide fit from ASOS

  • These stylish wide leather ballet flats from Next that look way more expensive than they are

  • Sizes: 4 - 9

  • Widths: EEE

  • Price: £28

If you're of the persuasion no outfit is complete without a little toughening up, these Mary Janes with a kick are for you. In a roomy EEE width*, these oxblood beauties (also available in black) will give any wedding guest outfit an edge. Without sacrificing comfort.

The outrageously cool studded straps are adjustable for your comfort, the round toe shape means your toes aren't going to feel the squeeze and the extra cushioned sock is a lovely addition.

I'd prefer these shoes were made of real leather, but I suspect the Optimism Studded Mary Jane Ballerina doesn't give a flying fig what I want.

*If you are an EEE width and seeking flat wedding guest shoes in extra extra wide, Simply Be is a treasure trove of affordable options. See: teal velour ballerina slippers, square toe studs and bows, orange woven flats (with a maxi wedding guest dress…chefs kiss emoji).

There is no reason a flat wedding guest shoe should be accused of being boring. Case in point: these leopard print stunners from Hotter! These definitely teeter towards the more casual end of wedding guest footwear, but I reckon they'd look perfect at a garden party / coastal / laidback soiree.

They come in standard, wide and extra wide fit, with half sizes too - this is the gold standard in finding the perfect fit! The elasticated buckle strap fully opens, so you can get it to hug your foot just so. And once they're on: my oh my. The soft microfibre padded insole, atop a cork sole, is going to give you the very best in wedding guest shoe comfort.

This popular style is also on sale in a gorgeous mossy green or cheerful seaside blue colourways. With over 500 reviews of 4.5+, safe to say they're selling like hot cakes. Fingers crossed for stock refreshes soon.

(If you can’t wait - these tried and tested colours are still available at full price: tan, black, gold and coral)

  • Sizes: 3.5 - 9.5

  • Widths: Extra Wide (EE)

  • Price: £179

These suave little darlings are hiding a whole world of secrets beneath their veneer of minimalist sophistication.

We're talking: a spacious toe box, breathable arch support and a soft memory foam insole, perfect to wear from morning to midnight. Plus the backstrap is cleverly elasticated, to ensure the perfect fit.

We also need to talk about the toe box. (There's a sentence teenage me never thought I'd say). It's home to a hidden foam panel, to seamlessly soothe and protect your toe joints and/or bunions.

Crafted out of butter soft leather and in a timeless almond or black finish, you might buy these shoes for a specific wedding, but I'd bet money on them becoming a wardrobe staple.

And allow me to linger on this beautiful brand for one minute longer, because if you’re in search of the perfect flat and wide pink wedding guest shoes, do yourself a favour and check out their Dionne bow flats. Are they not the sweetest?

  • Sizes: 3 - 9

  • Widths: Standard, Wide

  • Price: £35

The classic ballerina shoe is having a big moment anyway, but this dazzling pair wasn't content with that. Oh no. It took that moment and covered it in sequins. The result? A sparkling show-stealer of a shoe. The footbed comes with cushioning, which is a nice touch for the reasonable price.

The sizing though. Sigh. You can grab these in a wide fit, but they don't come in an extra wide fit sadly. You can get the same style in an extra wide fit in a patent version which comes in: blush pink, black or navy. Which is fine, but, let's be honest, it's not the same as wearing literal disco balls on your feet is it?

So there we go - six flat wedding guest shoes for wide feet that decimate the idea you need heels for style. Whether you're after something timeless, edgy or bunion-friendly, one of these options will see you through the dance floor pain-free!
